English Language Learners Specialist Emily Kiburz-Grimes

 

The recipient of a bachelor's degree in secondary education social sciences with an emphasis in psychology from the University of Nebraska, Emily Kiburz-Grimes completed her course work in 2005 and subsequently enrolled in the school's master of education program. She graduated in 2010 with a 4.0 GPA while concurrently working as an English Language Learners (ELL) teacher at Lincoln Public Schools. Emily Kiburz-Grimes served in this capacity until 2016, during which time she taught students from more than 15 different countries in an inclusive learning environment.

While working at Lincoln Public Schools, Emily Kiburz-Grimes participated in numerous academic advancement and curriculum-based groups like the School Improvement Committee, ELL Study Committee and Secondary ELL Curriculum Subcommittee, and Advanced Education Steering Committee.

As of 2018, Ms. Kiburz-Grimes has worked as a learning and development specialist at Bass Pro Shops and Cabela's CLUB in Lincoln, Nebraska, where she develops online learning courses to train 20,000 employees on compliance and instant issuance. Outside of her professional pursuits, she is active in animal-related philanthropic causes and owns a retired therapy dog named Olive.
